Frequently Asked Questions
Here are the answers to the most asked questions about Conference; we’ll keep updating them but if you have any other questions please contact the team.
This will be my first conference. Can you give me any tips?
We’re sure there will be some seasoned conference attendees in your club’s party so they will be able to share their experience with you. More details of the programme will be added to the website nearer to the event date. Above all else conference is meant to be fun, so come along and relax and enjoy, both the plenary sessions and all the social opportunities too.
What facilities are available at the Conference location for those with disabilities or those using a wheelchair?
The conference centre is fully accessible and has a hearing induction loop. If you have any concerns or specific requirements please contact the Conference team.
My partner is not a Rotarian or Rotaractor. Can he/she attend all the plenary sessions with me, or are some sessions just for Rotarians?
Partners and your guests are very welcome to attend. You can register your partner or guest at the same time as registering yourself.
Is the Saturday evening gala dinner open to non-delegates?
Unfortunately not. As places are limited, priority is for those who have paid the full weekend or day delegate rate, as has been normal practice at most recent district conferences. If spaces are available nearer the time, they may be opened up to non-delegates.
After I’ve registered, how can I make changes?
Contact your club co-ordinator or contact the team.
If I register now and decide later that I’m not coming, can I get a refund?
Cancellation should be made through your Club Conference Co-ordinator. Refunds will be made for cancellations received by Conference team before 8th January 2018. Cancellations after this date will be considered on a case by case basis. Please remember to cancel your hotel booking yourself.
What is the dress code for the conference and related events?
During the conference and Friday evening it’s casual dress code. For Saturday night, black tie/lounge suit/cocktail dress is fine, but with our ‘Back to the Future’ theme, an outfit from the decade of your choice (past or future) could win you a prize!
Will there be WiFi in the Conference venue?
Yes there is wifi available. Follow the conference on Facebook and/or Twitter and join in the conversation! @RotaryD1090Conf
Is car parking available at the conference venue?
Yes, there is plenty of free car parking right outside the conference venue.
